Spencer Plaza is historical and very big shopping mall in chennai, when in the year 1863-1864, India’s first Departmental store, established by J. W. Spencer and Charles Durant. After a few years, Eugene Oakshott shifted the departmental store to a new building, which was example architecture of Indian Indo-Saracenic style. In the year of 1985 building was designed by W. N. Pogson. The original building was damaged in a fire. The present Spencer Plaza was constructed on the same site. This mega shopping mall is the major associate for people of Chennai. The spencer plaza has been developed by Mangal Thirth Real Estate Limited. It now comprises three phases, Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Phase three is the most in recent times opened. The spencer has a number of stores dealing in goods of many local brands, as well as major brands. It also has retail shops of many of the foremost brands in Jewelery, products, and Clothes etc.
